Hey there,
I'm Dr. McConkey - Optometrist
I grew up in Harford County and studied at The University of Maryland, College Park (GO TERPS!) where I graduated with a degree in Cellular Biology and Molecular Genetics. After graduation, I worked at a local eye care practice and fell in love with optometry, so off to Philadelphia I went, to Salus University. I sat on The Dean's Student Advisory Board, was awarded the Conforma Contact Lens Award of Excellence, The J. Pat Cummings Award, Stockton Scholarship, Presidential Scholarship, was a member of the Gold Key Honor Society, and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. I graduated with Academic Honors and Clinical Excellence. Basically, I studied really hard, because I wanted to ensure I knew everything possible to be the best doctor I can be to my patients. Because I never say no to additional education, I also completed an Advanced Studies program in Retina Studies and furthered my education by completing a residency in Ocular Disease.

When I'm not playing doctor, I am wife, mommy, dog lover, gardener, and musician. ​

The exam room is designed with Dr. McConkey facing BOTH the patient and any patient advocate(s). Every step of your exam is projected for you to see, so that we can learn about your eyes together.

We offer online scheduling and HIPAA compliant texting, so that you can communicate with us when and how is easiest for you.
